Funds

⭐ Premium

Funds are the giving categories that donors can choose between when making a donation. A church might have a General Fund for everyday running costs, a Building Fund for capital projects, a Missions Fund for overseas giving, and so on. Setting up funds before you launch your giving form lets donors direct their gift to the right purpose.

Go to Church Admin → Giving → Funds.

Viewing your funds

The screen lists all your current funds in a table with Edit and Delete buttons next to each one. If you have no funds set up yet the list will be empty — add at least one before placing the giving form on your website, as donors need at least one fund to donate to.

Adding a fund

Click Add fund at the top of the screen. Enter the fund name and save. The fund immediately appears in the list and becomes available as an option on the public-facing giving form on your website.

Fund names should be clear and meaningful to donors — use language your congregation will recognise rather than internal accounting codes. For example General Fund is clearer than GF01.

Editing a fund

Click Edit next to any fund to rename it. The updated name appears on the giving form immediately after saving. Existing giving records linked to the fund are not affected by a name change — they retain the fund association, just with the updated label.

Deleting a fund

Click Delete next to a fund and confirm the prompt. The fund is removed from the giving form immediately so donors can no longer select it for new donations.

Deleting a fund does not affect previous donations recorded against it. Historical giving records retain their fund association and will still appear correctly in giving reports and CSV exports — you won’t lose any financial history by removing a fund.

If you only need one fund

If your church only collects general donations with no need to split giving between different purposes, set up a single fund — for example General Fund — and the giving form will display it without a fund selector dropdown. See One fund only giving form for how this works on the front end.

How funds appear on the giving form

On the public-facing giving form, donors see a dropdown or list of your active funds and select which one their donation should go to. The selected fund is recorded against the donation in your giving records, so you can report on income per fund and export fund-specific giving data to CSV.
