Church Admin v 3.8.0 brings Stripe as a payment processor for donations. Taking online payments as donations and for ticketings is a Premium plugin feature.
Once you have upgraded to the premium plugin, which can be done from your Church Admin main menu page, you can set up which Payment Gateway you wish to use – PayPal or Stripe.
For this tutorial, I’m assuming you have an account setup with www.stripe.com.
Click on the “Payment gateway settings button” to begin the setup. Here you will see that you need some “keys” from Stripe to make things work.
Head over to www.stripe.com and login. Click on the “developers” button top right.
Than click on “API Keys” and create some API keys by clicking on Create Secret Keys. You can then click on these keys to copy them to your clipboard and paste them in on Church Admin. You can create Live keys to take real payments or Test keys to test the system out.
On Church Admin choose your currency, add your currency symbol. If you are in the United Kingdom, check “UK Gift Aid form”, if you wish to collect Gift Aid on donations.
Then on a page or post you can add the Giving block or shortcode to take donations. Currently the Stripe integration only takes one-off donations as of v3.8.0. Later versions will add in regular giving and paying for tickets with Stripe.
Making a donation with Stripe is a simple two step process.
Step 1 -Enter the amount to Donate
Step 2 – enter the payment details
Stripe creates the payment section without any card details passing through your server for security. Donations are logged in the back end and you can even make refunds if needed.
