Church Rota Plugin for WordPress

Keeping a church rota up to date shouldn’t mean juggling spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and sticky notes. The Church Admin Plugin’s rota (schedule) module lets you build and publish volunteer schedules directly on your WordPress website — for worship leaders, preachers, refreshments, toddlers, junior church, youth, welcome teams, or any role your church needs to fill.

Set up as many services and tasks as you like, assign volunteers in a few clicks, and publish the rota straight onto your site with a simple shortcode or Gutenberg block. Volunteers can log in to see just their own commitments, and everyone else can see who’s serving each week.

What the rota module does

• Unlimited tasks and services — worship, preaching, refreshments, kids’ and youth ministry, welcome team, sound/AV, or anything else your church rotas people for.
• Auto generated Schedules – you can use the automated schedule generator, which can do three months of services making sure no clashes and weighting of how often people are scheduled.
• Automatic reminders — volunteers get emailed or an SMS ahead of their scheduled date, so fewer people forget or no-show.
• Self-service view — logged-in volunteers only see their own duties, not the whole church’s private schedule.
• Month-by-month browsing — the front-end schedule lets visitors flick between months to see upcoming or past rotas.
• Works with your existing WordPress site — no separate app or login system; it’s a module inside the plugin you already run.
• Printable/shareable rota — publish it on a page, embed it in a members-only area, or both.

How it works

1. Add tasks (e.g. Worship Leader, Preacher, Refreshments) to any service in your Church Admin dashboard.
2. Assign volunteers to each task and date — recurring or one-off.
3. Drop the shortcode church_admin type=rota service_id=1 or the matching Gutenberg block onto any page.
4. The rota appears on your site, with logged-in volunteers seeing their own duties and reminders going out automatically.
