The Giving CSV export downloads a spreadsheet of donation records for a chosen date range, either for your whole congregation or for a specific individual. It’s useful for financial reporting, preparing accounts, reconciling donations, and producing individual giving statements.
Go to Church Admin → Giving → Giving CSV.
Choosing what to export
Start date and end date
Use the date pickers to set the range of donations to include. A typical use would be a financial year — for example 1 April to 31 March for UK churches, or 1 January to 31 December for calendar year reporting. Only donations with a donation date falling within the selected range are included.
People
The dropdown defaults to Everyone, which exports all donations across all donors in the selected date range. To produce a giving statement for a single person, select their name from the dropdown — only donors who have at least one recorded donation appear in the list.
Downloading the CSV
Click Save to generate and download the CSV file. It opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet application. Each row represents an individual donation and includes the donor name, fund, amount, donation type, frequency, and date.
Common uses
- Annual accounts — export all giving for the financial year and import into your accounting software or hand to your treasurer or auditor
- Individual giving statements — select a specific donor and export their giving history for a year to produce a personal giving summary, useful for donors who want a record for their own tax purposes
- Fund analysis — export all giving and filter by fund column in your spreadsheet to see totals per fund over the period
- Reconciliation — compare the CSV against your bank statement to verify that all online donations have been correctly received
Gift Aid CSV
If your church is a registered UK charity and you need to produce a report for HMRC Gift Aid claims, use the dedicated Gift Aid report CSV instead — it produces a file in the format required for the HMRC online portal rather than a general giving export. See Gift Aid report CSV.
