The address list can be filtered in many different ways — by member type, small group, gift aid status, birthday month and more. The Choose Filters page lets you decide which of those filters actually appear on your address list, so you can show the ones your church uses and hide the rest to keep the filtering controls uncluttered.
Finding the page
Go to the People tab and open Choose which filters are shown. You’ll see a list of every available filter, each with a checkbox.
Choosing your filters
Tick the filters you want available on your address list and untick the ones you don’t need, then click Save. A confirmation message appears once your choice is stored, and the address list filtering options update to match.
This only controls which filters are shown — it doesn’t change any of your data. You can adjust your selection at any time.
The available filters
The filters you can turn on or off include:
- Contact form — whether the person can be contacted via the contact form.
- Shown in directory — whether they appear in the directory.
- Address — filter by whether an address is held.
- Bible readings — Bible readings subscription.
- Genders — filter by gender.
- Gift aid donors — people set up for Gift Aid.
- Photo permission — whether they’ve given photo permission.
- User accounts — whether they have a linked WordPress user account.
- Email address — filter by whether an email address is held.
- Receive phone calls — permission to be phoned.
- Cell phone — whether a mobile number is held.
- Classes — membership of classes.
- Data protection confirmed — whether their GDPR consent is confirmed.
- People types — Adult, Teenager, Child and any you’ve added.
- Active — active or inactive records.
- Marital status — filter by marital status.
- Sites — for multi-site churches, filter by site.
- Member types — Visitor, Regular Attender, Member and any you’ve added.
- Small groups — membership of small groups.
- Ministries — membership of ministry teams.
- Birth year — filter by year of birth.
- Birth month — filter by month of birth.
- Parents — filter by parents.
- Spiritual gifts — filter by recorded spiritual gifts.
- Email Permission — permission to be emailed.
- Age related groups — filter by age-related grouping.
Custom fields
Any custom fields you’ve created are automatically added to this list too, so you can filter your address list by your own fields as well as the built-in ones. They appear at the end of the list using the field name you gave them.
