Bulk Edit Anniversaries

The bulk edit anniversaries screen lets you review and update wedding anniversary dates for everyone in the directory marked as Married, without having to open each household record individually. It’s particularly useful when setting up Church Admin for the first time with imported data, or after a data audit reveals missing anniversary dates.

Who appears on the screen

The screen shows the head of household for every household where the marital status is set to Married. If nobody in your directory has a marital status of Married, the screen will say so and there will be nothing to edit.

People whose marital status is set to anything other than Married — including blank — do not appear here, even if they have an anniversary date stored. Update their marital status first if you want them to appear. See Adding and editing a household.

Using the screen

Go to Church Admin → People → Bulk edit anniversaries. The screen lists every married head of household alphabetically by last name, with a date picker next to each name showing their current anniversary date — or blank if none has been entered.

  1. Work through the list and set or correct the anniversary date for each household using the date picker. Dates can be entered as far back as 1910.
  2. Leave any dates blank that you don’t have — blank fields are saved as empty rather than causing an error.
  3. Click Update wedding anniversaries at the bottom of the screen to save all changes at once.

A success message confirms the update. The screen then reloads showing the saved values so you can verify everything looks correct.

What happens to the data

Anniversary dates are stored on the household record rather than on individual person records — one date per household. The previous value for each household is also stored temporarily in the background so the change can be reviewed if needed.

Any date entered that isn’t a valid date is discarded rather than saved, so typos in the date picker won’t corrupt your data.

Automated anniversary emails

Once anniversary dates are stored, Church Admin can send automated Happy Anniversary emails to couples on their wedding anniversary, and a daily digest email to staff listing upcoming anniversaries.
