Refresh Podcast Feed

⭐ Premium

The Refresh podcast tool rebuilds your sermon podcast feed on demand. Church Admin generates an RSS feed of your sermons that podcast apps and directories (Apple Podcasts, Spotify and the like) read to list your episodes. Normally this feed updates itself as you add sermons, but if it ever looks out of date, refreshing it here forces it to rebuild straight away.

Finding the tool

Go to the Media tab and open Refresh podcast. Running it regenerates the feed and then shows your current list of sermons, so you can confirm what’s now included.

When to use it

You’d typically refresh the podcast when:

  • You’ve just changed your podcast settings — title, artwork, author, category and so on — and want the feed to pick up the new details.
  • A sermon you expected to appear in your podcast app isn’t showing, or one you removed is still listed.
  • You’ve edited sermon details and want the feed brought up to date immediately rather than waiting.

What gets included

The feed includes your sermons that are set to be shown and are not marked private, newest first. Each episode carries its title, description, speaker, audio file and publication date. Sermons hidden or marked private are left out, so the public feed only contains what you intend to publish.

Your podcast needs a title set in Podcast settings for the feed to be built. If you have no visible sermons — or no podcast title configured — the feed isn’t generated, and any existing feed file is removed. So if refreshing produces an empty result, check that you have published sermons and that your podcast settings are complete.
