Directory PDF

The Directory PDF tool generates a printable address list of your congregation as a PDF — handy for a paper church directory that members can keep at home, or for anyone who prefers not to use the online version. You control the title, the layout, whether photos are included, and which member types appear.

Finding the tool

Go to the People tab and open Directory PDF. Set the options below, then click Download to generate and save the PDF.

PDF Title

Enter the heading you want printed at the top of the directory — for example your church’s name, or something like “Church Family Directory 2026”.

PDF Style

Choose how households are laid out:

  • With household photos v1 — includes household photos in one layout style.
  • With household photos v2 — includes household photos in an alternative layout. It’s worth trying both to see which looks better with your photos.
  • No photos — a text-only directory, which is more compact and prints on fewer pages.

Address Style

  • Single line — the address is printed on one line, saving space.
  • Multiple line — the address is laid out over several lines, as it would appear on an envelope.

Member types

Every member type is listed with a checkbox, and all are ticked by default. Untick any you don’t want in this directory — for example, you might produce a members-only directory by including just your Member type and leaving out visitors and mailing-list contacts. Only people in the ticked member types are included in the PDF.

Downloading

Once you’ve set your options, click Download and the PDF is generated for you to save or print. If you have a lot of people or you’ve included photos, it may take a few moments to build.

A note on privacy

A printed directory contains people’s contact details, so treat it with the same care as any personal data. Only share it with those who should have it, and let members know their details will appear so anyone who’d prefer to be left out can say so.
