The Children’s Groups PDF generates a printable landscape list of all your age-related groups with the children allocated to each one, dated and totalled. It’s designed to be printed before a Sunday and handed to group leaders so they know who to expect.
Go to Church Admin → Children’s Work → Childrens groups PDF.
What the PDF contains
The PDF is printed in landscape orientation and lays out each group as a column, with the children in that group listed underneath in alphabetical order by last name. Each child is numbered within their group. The header shows today’s date and the total number of children across all groups.
Up to five groups fit across a single landscape page. If you have more than five groups a new page is started automatically for the remaining groups.
Who appears in the PDF
A child appears in a group if either:
- They have been manually assigned to that group using the Allocate children to groups screen, or
- Their date of birth falls within the group’s age range and they have not been manually assigned elsewhere
Manual assignments always take precedence over automatic age-based allocation. Children without a date of birth and without a manual assignment will not appear in any group — assign them manually first. See Allocate children to groups.
Filtering by member type
The PDF can be filtered to include only children of specific member types — for example showing only Members and Regular Attenders rather than everyone on the Mailing List. This is useful if your directory contains children at different stages of connection to the church and you only want to print the list for those who are actively attending.
Paper size
The PDF uses whichever paper size is configured in your Church Admin settings — A4 for most of the world, or Letter for the US. This is set at Church Admin → Settings in the PDF label settings section.
If the PDF is empty or groups are missing
- No groups appear — no age-related groups have been set up yet. Go to Church Admin → Children’s Work → Age Related Groups and create your groups first.
- A group appears but is empty — no children have been allocated to it. Either no children have a date of birth falling within the group’s age range, or they haven’t been manually assigned. See Allocate children to groups.
- A child is missing — they may not have been assigned to any group, or their People Type may not be set to Child or Teenager. Check their record in the directory.
