ParticipantHello Andy,
I’ve just tried again, but it’s still not working.
1. The date picker looks great but doesn’t do anything (leaving only today’s date selected whatever is actually clicked).
2. On saving, I’m getting an error message that either Church Admin needs updating (it doesn’t) or the website is broken (it isn’t – I’ve successfully updated my calendar via the website).
Sorry…
Mark

ParticipantThanks Andy,
This works across the board. However, it’s thrown up two interesting anomalies…Firstly, on my wife’s old Lenovo tablet (Android Version 6.0.1):
– the page titles of the pages I have created don’t appear, and
– the page titles of the default pages are not reading the amended menu titles (e.g. it says, “Latest News” when the menu option is “News”)Secondly, on my phone (new Samsung A52), the “Groups” page now seems to default to the default setting as if there were nothing in the “Groups” page under “App Content”. Only if I refresh the page do I get the header and information I have entered, with the default information underneath. I didn’t notice this happening before I changed the CSS for titles (and then took the CSS out again).
Lastly, thank you for pointing out the CSS section – this has answered another one of my questions. Brilliant!

ParticipantI promise it was there!
It’s not now. So all’s well…However, “Notification settings” has appeared now … both on the “My Account” option and as a menu option in its own right. Currently it doesn’t appear to do anything (menu option reverts to Home page, Account option just freezes).

ParticipantHi Andy,
This is still not working yet.By using Notepad, I’ve done some comparisons with iCal files downloaded from my Google Calendar and seen some syntax differences:
You have used DTSTART;DATE=VALUE:xxx and DTEND;DATE=VALUE:xxx
By changing these to the more straightforward DTSTART:xxx and DTEND:xxx I got it to work.
I also noticed that SUMMARY (the event title) wasn’t being picked up. I saw that the line above this was the DESCRIPTION, which included a carriage return (which doesn’t exist in the field in the ChurchAdmin plugin). I took this carriage return out and it worked fine.
Obviously I don’t want to be downloading iCal files, opening them in Notepad, editing them and then importing to Google Calendar! Is there a way of adjusting the way your iCal files are coded to avoid these errors and enable the events to be imported instantly?
Hope so!
Thank you,

ParticipantThank you, Andy,
The URL will be the same, so it sounds as if all will go pretty smoothly.
Thanks for the information about the possibility of user edits being lost (or located on the old server). I think I can manage that when it comes to it. (And I’ve got a proper techy person to do the migration, so we should be okay!)
I really appreciate your prompt and detailed response to this – thank you!

ParticipantHello again,
I’ve just tried the download / upload for an event and am still getting the same issues:
– events in the app show the start and end time as being the same, and
– downloaded events (ical files) create all day events.
It’d be lovely if this could be sorted.
Thank you so much,
MarkMark.Dunstan
ParticipantHello Andy,
I hope you are well.
Any further with this mysterious issue? It’s still not working my end.

ParticipantThanks pastor@hookybaptist… I noticed this, too.
Additionally, the ics download (whether from app and website) is not collecting all the information from the calendar event. When trying to upload to Google Calendar, the inserted event defaults to “All Day”, starting on the event date and ending on today’s date (i.e. the date of download – which is likely to be before the event date and therefore creates an error).

ParticipantThere’s no detail. The whole screen goes light grey and a white box appears with the text, “There has been a critical error on this website.” and a couple of lines down, a hyperlink with the text “Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”
If it helps, the page link is https://hunsdonchurch.org/church-diary/
Thanks

ParticipantThank you, Andy.
It’s possible you looked before I wrote it… but here’s the link:Mark.Dunstan
ParticipantBrilliant.

ParticipantThanks Andy,
I can’t see anything in red within the code. On the “Console view” there’s one error: it says, “Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received.” Does this help diagnosis?
The url is https://hunsdonchurch.org/sermons/
It makes no difference whether the player is created with the shortcode or the Gutenberg block.
Thanks for looking at it for me.Mark.Dunstan
ParticipantIt works now.
Thank you!Mark.Dunstan
ParticipantThank you for this,
The URL doesn’t seem to be working, then – clicking one of the Sermon Series choices just reloads the page where the Sermon Series block is located. Accordingly, when I put the podcast block on that same page, it did correctly update the podcast block to the sermon series I selected. (But I had originally wanted to put the Sermon Series block on a different page to the player.)It does the same on your demo page, by the way.
Thank you for your help,

ParticipantThank you.
You know that the WP plugin update page shows this app as 100% compatible with 5.6.4 (according to its author) but “unknown” with 5.8? I’ll be honest, this has played a part in my hesitancy in updating…In other news, having successfully displayed my calendar with the shortcode, I tried to produce this year’s “Year Planner PDF” from the calendar page. It took me to an error page: “There has been a critical error on this website.” It doesn’t actually appear to have affected the website (I can go back to view the calendar page and every other page I tried seems to function properly), but this is obviously not quite right. You may be aware of this of course.
Thank you for your help,
