I don’t see any way to download the backup files all at once. Do I need to do those individually?

I’ve decided it will be much simpler just to get the new site approved and moved over without the admin stuff working, THEN restore DB backup into the same URL I copied from.

Thanks very much, I will work on this today. We do have the app, but our URL is not changing—I just want everything working on a staging site so the elders can approve it, then I will migrate it back to the actual URL.

I use All-in-One WP Migration to migrate sites, and so far it’s worked flawlessly as far as changing urls throughout and such. So I’m hoping it will work in this case when I migrate back.

Thank you for doing that! The website is perfect, but the pdf generated now gets stretched instead of cropped. Since we’re a relatively small church I don’t mind uploading new pictures to your exact aspect ratio but wanted to see if you have any other ideas before I do.

For what it’s worth, I just discovered we’re having the same problem. (We discovered it when my pastor’s household stopped showing up of all people.) Hope there’s a fix.

I never got a reply to this but want to bring it up again. We have older folks who don’t go online much and really want a printed directory. But the little square pictures in the pdf are a problem. We have some large families—one with 9 kids, one with 7, and others with 6—and it’s hard to take a square picture of them! Any help appreciated.

Good info, thanks. Now I just made another discovery. A member wrote and asked me to change her email, so I did. Then I synced, but she said she still wasn’t getting prayer requests. So I went to MailChimp and saw they had not updated her email address even though I had synced. So I had to change it directly in MailChimp.

That was fine in this case, since I was in the know, but what about when members change their addresses on their own? (As I was hoping they would.) I guess I just need to check “Recent People Activity” regularly?

    Thanks for any insight.

I found a debug log, which I hope you meant. Just emailed to you. Thanks!

Sorry—yes, MailChimp.com did have a Prayer Requests tag, yet our prayer requests weren’t going to email, so that’s when I jumped to conclusions.

Now I’ve gone back to MailChimp again, and I’m finding the unsent messages under the Campaigns menu—marked as draft. I can’t see how to have those sent. Perhaps they aren’t sending because I gave permission for all subscribers to send prayer requests, BUT I made our pastor an admin, and his didn’t go either.

I’m delighted to hear the system is supposed to work as I had hoped! So if you can help me over this last hurdle we should be good.

    Thanks!

Okay, I think I get it now. I can go to “Send MailChimp Email” and under recipient tags click “prayer requests send”. Is that right?

Does it still go to the app that way or only to email?

Also, I take it there is no way to send it by MailChimp FROM the app? Or, for that matter, for subscribers as opposed to admin to send it out?

I can see MailChimp will still be very useful, just not quite what I was hoping for. Also I’m not sure why the prayer requests were going to email 100% of the time and suddenly stopped!

Thanks, as always, for answering so quickly. An ice storm knocked out our power for two days so I was slow to get back to it.

I did get the link this time, thanks. Two questions:

    1. How will I know which way the email is going out? Until last night, all the emails went out fine, but last night none would go out, and none are going out now (at least from me), even though I tried a test after seeing that link.

    2. I changed permissions so that prayer requests can go out from a subscriber, so our folks don’t have to wait for moderation. Does that matter, or is an admin required for it to go by MailChimp?

    Thanks again!

Hmmm. Yes, I’m running 2.2500. I’m looking at the logo on the app tab. It’s 300 x 91. But it doesn’t show up in the app. I tried deleting “App Menu Title” thinking perhaps you have to have one or the other, but that didn’t help.

Worked, thanks! I opted for 1.2.

By the way, logging into the app can be challenging. Sometimes have to tap several times.
