JonParticipant
This is a big problem for us and I do hope someone can help. Prayer requests sent from app (android or iOS) or website are all behaving the same–they look fine on website or app but the email that goes through Mailchimp loses all paragraph returns.
If I try to “send MailChimp” from the backend I get an error: Oops something went wrong with sending the campaign, please check the debug log under settings.
Also we’re getting frequent double posts, an intermittent problem in the past but persistent now. But that’s a small matter compares to the paragraph returns, as we use prayer requests frequently.
JonParticipantRight now I’m still using classic, though I’m rebuilding the site in Gutenberg (on a separate staging domain). Glad to know you’re working on it, thanks!
JonParticipantThis is still a problem for me. Folks can post a request on the website and it goes right through, but if they post on the app it goes into moderation, even though the settings clearly say a subscriber can post.
To make matters worse, twice recently I haven’t gotten email notification and didn’t know a request was waiting.
Thanks for any help!
JonParticipantActually, now that I’m working with it both have the same problems with pagination and pictures breaking. I will just create my own, but in the future would be lovely to generate a good pdf for our older folks who aren’t tech savvy.
JonParticipantThank you, that’s an improvement, but pdf=1 still has problems. Pictures will break over pages. PDF=2 handles pictures and pagination much better but doesn’t include contact info. Really need a combination of both!
JonParticipantWonderful! I’ve updated and am much relieved. Thank you!
JonParticipantOkay, I found your alternate pdf layout that includes birthdays. Wonderful. Now please let me know if there’s any way to include anniversaries when you can. Thanks!
JonParticipantGreat, thanks! Is there a way to include anniversaries too? Also, is there a way to include in the pdf directory?
JonParticipantI think we’re having this same problem. On another thread, Households or Members Not Shown in Directory, you were troubleshooting to see why people were falling off. I have discovered that everyone falling off on our site is being moved from “member” to “mailing list” for no apparent reason that I can find.
JonParticipantNever mind. I went ahead and set as month and name as you suggested and see if makes no difference in my page names.
JonParticipantThank you, thank you! I owe you big time.
I simply deleted the post, as it was an experiment and not used, and it’s cleared up on my devices anyway. I’m reluctant to change the permalinks. Won’t that affect pages too and so links from other places? Or do the pages with the “month and name” setting leave off the date and appear as they do currently?
I know UK is hit very hard with this virus and pray you and your congregation stay safe!
JonParticipantWell, it did better for a while and now it’s acting up again, on numerous devices—several browsers on several Macs and PCs, old iPad and new iPad…. If anything else comes to mind please let me know, and I’ll keep experimenting.
JonParticipantThanks so much! I’ve done all that and it seems to be working fine now.
JonParticipantThanks for the quick response! I see I have this warning, which I think is new:
WP Super Cache Warning!
Your server is configured to show files and directories, which may expose sensitive data such as login cookies to attackers in the cache directories. That has been fixed by adding a file named index.html to each directory. If you use simple caching, consider moving the location of the cache directory on the Advanced Settings page.
If you just installed WP Super Cache for the first time, you can dismiss this message. Otherwise, you should probably refresh the login cookies of all logged in WordPress users here by clicking the logout link below.
The logout link will log out all WordPress users on this site except you. Your authentication cookie will be updated, but you will not be logged out.
Dismiss | LogoutDo I need to deal with that before I deactivate the plugin? Can I get by with no caching, or should I try to clean up and reactivate. Thanks for the help!
JonParticipantThanks, working great. I should have thought to check that first—sorry!
