It would be nice to be able to choose the YouVersion Bible App as the default for our Bible readings. Our church uses both the social aspect of the YouVersion app and its reading plans. I think it would be helpful to be able to choose from the Admin side of things which app we prefer by default and construct the reading URLs based on that. If there is a user or two who prefer something else, they can open the readings in that app.
But, as a general rule, a church tends to all use whatever is popular and in the case of my church, it’s the YouVersion app over anything else.
I can’t find an API for it – lots of dodgy looking sites claiming to be an api and then not being one.
You can
Turn off Bible Readings post type in Church Admin>Settings
Turn off the Bible Readings menu type in Church Admin>App>App Menu
You could create a Bible Reading Plan page for the app with a redirect to the YouVersion app.
