    Hi,
    I am using the Events module for the first time, and in general it’s exactly what we needed right now. But I think there’s room for improvement. Two things came up right away that would be nice features to have. For context, our ticketed event is a multi-day retreat.

    First, it appears that the only way to book a ticket is to pay in full via PayPal (or to add a booking manually from the admin area). I would like to have the option of allowing a booking without payment as well. Specifically, some of our attendees would prefer to pay via check, not PayPal, and they are welcome to do that in person or through the mail. Additionally, we wanted to offer the option of paying a deposit now with the remaining balance due at a future date. While I could set up a separate ticket type for “deposit only” or something like that, doing it that way could make things confusing since everyone is still expected to pay the full amount eventually and keeping track of that would end up being an offline manual process. It looks like the functionality is there to record payments of any amount when they come in, the missing piece is to allow people to book their ticket without using PayPal to pay the full balance.

    Second, it would be nice to be able to customize the email that goes out when a booking is submitted. In this case, we’d like that email to include payment information including dates for the full payment and refund cutoff. But it could also include followup information about who to contact for more information and when/what to expect in terms of planning their retreat. Obviously we’ll follow up with future emails, too, but this first email would be a good place to at least set expectations and let people know that there’s more to come. Similarly customizing a message that appears on the screen when a booking is completed would make sense too.
