ParticipantI’m just starting to setup the app and have a couple of questions.
Firstly is there a way of only getting notifications for specific post categories? At present whenever a new post is added it generates a notification. We’ve setup a system where people can text in prayers and thanksgivings during our services and these generate a post with the category ‘text messages’ however every time this happens they also generate a notification in the app which won’t work for us.
Secondly I’m trying to style the giving page. We use GiveALittle and I want tin include some text then a link to GiveALittle then some more text. However whatever I try it all comes out as one text block.
I’m sure there will be more queries as I get more into setting it up. Thank you for this fantastic resource.

KeymasterHi Sandy
Welcome aboard!1) Push notifications on post publish
You’re the second person to ask about switching off push notifications on new posts and I can see in your context it would get annoying pretty quickly.
I will sort that tomorrow. Easiest way will be an option to turn them off and then the ability to switch them on by post. Currently there is an option to switch off by post (but that wouldn’t work with an automated posting system like you have.)2) Styling Giving page
You can use normal html tags with inline CSS or add some CSS at Church Admin>App>App Settings.
If you have used the Visual tab it may be the paragraphs haven’t worked. I’m not sure why!
Switch to Text tab and start each paragraph with<p>
and end it with</p>
and it will space better.6th January 2021 at 10:44 pm #5188Andy Moyle
KeymasterActually the no push switch is already there under Church Admin>Settings
Will move it to Church Admin>App>App Settings
And will add a please push this one switch to post editor screen soon!7th January 2021 at 7:36 pm #5234SandyM
ParticipantThanks for the quick response. I’ve found the setting for notifications and now turned this off.
I’ve tried using html tags under the text tab but when I save the page and go back they are stripped out.
I’ve also now discovered that when I access the prayer menu in the app itself I get a spinning flower on the screen which doesn’t resolve to anything.
I’m also looking at the granularity of permissions for seeing other people’s data so we are covered by GDPR. Would it be possible for a user to be able to login and see prayer requests but not to access the address details of others? Not everyone has given permission to be included in our contact list, but it would be helpful if they could still register a prayer request and see other prayer requests.

ParticipantCan I check the details of the notifications. Are the options either all notifications or no notifications? Is it possible to have notifications only for the categories that are enabled or added to the App Menu?

ParticipantThe prayer menu is resolved – you have to have at least one prayer request for this to work!
Any thoughts on the granularity of permissions of details about notifications?
