Issues with media front end

Some strange behaviours here.

If i use a series shortcode [church_admin type="podcast" series_id="10"], the video displayed is the latest upload, rather than the latest from that series. when I then select the same series, from the dropdown, the list says ‘no sermons found’. This does not happen with the top level podcast shortcode, where all the titles are displayed in the list (in other words the sermons for that series do exist).

Using the main podcast shortcode [church_admin type=podcast most_popular=FALSE] presents the latest upload, as expected. However, when selecting a series from the dropdown, it shows a random sermon from that series rather than the latest episode.
