Vince
MemberHi guys,
On WordPress my username is mc1171611, and I submitted a variety of translations for Spanish. For some reason it looks like almost ALL of them were rejected by someone. I spent time I didn’t have to try to help make this plugin compatible with my website, so I’d like to know who rejected my strings and why. Also, since I’m new to the translate site on WordPress (but not to translation OR Spanish), I’d like to know how to apply to become an editor since there’s no one for the Spanish language.
Thanks

MemberOk, so I was successful in FINALLY figuring out how to apply to be an editor for the Spanish translation. That process is unnecessarily convoluted, to the point where I think it’s intentional.
Ok, so now to wait.

KeymasterIt is convoluted. We have 3,000 German translations waiting for months and months – the translator applied to be an editor…

MemberI just decided to skip the whole mess and download the .po file. I’ll make it available when I’m done.

When I started translating Church Admin into Norwegian I used Slack and contacted one of the persons inwolved in translateing WordPress into Norwegian (nn_NO) and in few minutes he set me up as an editor. It my be possible for you to do the same in one of the Spanish languages.

KeymasterUnfortunately the process with WordPress is that translations need to be approved by an editor even if we use a .po now. So do please apply to be an editor and use that Slack thing to get in touch with a Spanish editor to get it expedited.
Been waiting months for a complete German translation to be approved and an editor approved ;-(9th July 2019 at 6:09 pm #4269Pastor Andres
ModeratorVince, any progress? If so can you email me your progress with the .po file?

KeymasterThey do take a while to approve translations – could one of you apply to become the editor and then approve the lots. That way you won’t get the overwriting issues!
By the way how different is Spanish Mexico from Spanish Spain in terms of what you have translated. If it’s pretty much the same I could change the filename and upload to sort Spanish Spain too!!!

ModeratorWe checked the difference and there is a meaningful number of variations. We will complete the Spain Spanish version and submit it as well.
