ParticipantHey Andy, can you give us a quick rundown of how this works? Are prayer request posts? How are they added? Do they get emailed to the members? How can we view them online? Thanks.

KeymasterPrayer requests are a custom post type.
So you can add a Prayer Request Archive page quite simple from Appearance>Menus
Prayer Requests should be an option to be added. I use “All Prayer Requests” and then it will be added to the menu and work basically blog post page.
In the directory – you can check the checkbox marked “Prayer Chain” when you edit people individually or under Church Admin>Communications you add people to the prayer chain. They will then get an email every time a new Prayer request is posted by a site admin (or anyone with permission to post!)
If you have the app – a push notification happens too.
The Prayer Chain feature is a legacy feature for emailing/sms prayer requests. I only use the list of people subscribed to it and use “Prayer Requests” to post prayer requests.13th October 2017 at 9:45 pm #3836Brad
GuestHi
Thanks for the great plugin.
Does the prayer request start with a request form? I can’t find it, if it does.We need a form on the site that people can go to, fill out there prayer request, then it emails to the congregation (or a prayer group).
I manually typed in a “test prayer request” under ADD NEW. I can also see how to add the prayer request page to the top menu, but when I click on that, I don’t see my “test prayer request”.
Thanks for any help.

KeymasterThe form for users to send a prayer request in for moderation is only available on the app currently (https://www.churchadminplugin.com/app). Will get the form added for a shortcode soon.
In answer to your second question – Go to the dashboard for the website, click on prayer requests on the left hand side.
Is your test prayer request in the list (should look like posts/pages format)? If so what is its’ status? Draft/Published – if it’s draft it’ll need publishing to be available on a prayer requests page.4th September 2018 at 12:56 pm #3956365sussex

KeymasterThe Prayer requests are a “custom post” type. So they automatically use your theme’s template for archive posts and single post.
You can adjust a theme, by creating a child theme to create some specific styling -https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/custom-post-type-template-files/ is an article about how to do that! The request form uses the same form styling as elsewhere in the plugin which is based on Bootstrap – again you can add some custom css if you wish.
The form is prepended to the posts using the action ‘loop_start’ – which some themes don’t have (they should!) so over the years I have added actions for the7,omega and fusion so it goes at the top -
