GuestHello,
I’m using the plugin from the U.S. for a church website. We only really need the directory functionality and this plugin is the closest to what we need. That being said, there are some issues that I think need to be addressed and a few clarifications I need.
1. The PDF download section at the top of the directory is definitely useful, but the styling of it isn’t great. Is the suggestion to use custom CSS here to make it look decent?
2. The section at the bottom of the directory that states how long it took to retrieve the entries isn’t useful to anyone but the admin. Any way we can hide it for everyone but an admin?
3. The section on the left of the directory (with letters where you can select last names) has a last name entry for each member of the household. I would expect there to be one entry per household that then shows the “card” for that household. I don’t see any reason to have one entry per household member that all lead to the same card.
4. The household card itself has some pretty major spacing/style issues. It would be nice to have some style control over this section.
5. Even though there are two adults in a household, only the first adult is listed under the adults section.
6. The main title of the household card should be “The LASTNAME Household”. Adding each adult’s name to that title makes some family household cards very large and makes the page hard to read.
7. I haven’t quite figured out how the shortcode options take effect. I didn’t want the map or the edit button, but when I put in the shortcodes to make those disappear, they actually didn’t go anywhere until I edited and saved a person in a household.
All that said, I like this plugin over all and look forward to using it. I’ve made a mockup of what I think the directory should look like if you are interested.
Thanks,

KeymasterSome of your issues sound like you are defining a household differently to how I would.
https://www.churchadminplugin.com/tutorials/what-is-a-household/ explains.
I would tend to put adult children in a different household with the same address.1) Add whatever CSS you like to make it look “decent”
2) Yes
3) Only one last name per household record (who would be the head of household/first named) is shown on the left. You must have created multiple households at the same address, which is best way to handle adult kids. Adding first_initial=TRUE to the shortcode, appends the initial of the head of household.
4) Add whatever CSS you like to change it.
5) That’s a bug, currently only adults with mobile/email are listed separately, which is confusing.
6) A normal two adult household with same last names works fineYou can post a mockup if you like!
