Hi Andy! I am making a big push to get our congregation to use the WP App for weekly news so we are now sending out news of upcoming events though the app by creating a post in WordPress. All this has worked great, but every time we send out news it generates an e-mail to people in our database. I know that there is an option in the plugin where one can “receive new blog posts by e-mail”, but I went in and disabled this option for every person in our database and yet e-mails are still generated. I do have several other options selected though….”Can we send you email” and I also created an option under the “Ministries” entitled “Prayer E-mail Updates” for those prayer warriors who do not attend our church plant but who have committed to pray for our church. I have synced this option with Mailchimp so I can send out prayer updates about our church to our prayer supporters via mailchip. The only thing I can figure is that one of these two other options are messing things up. I just want to get it to the place where we can regularly be sending our people news through the app with spamming everyone else in our database.

When a news post is published and you have MailChimp set up, it will send the message to MailChimp API telling it to only send to people who have the “News send” set under the column (i think they called it Interest Groups) Ministries. It might be that when you sync’d with MailChimp it didn’t take that off people’s entries in MailChimp.
Could you log in to MailChimp and see if “Ministries” column shows “News send” for the people it should. If not then try sync’ing again – got to say it’s functioning correctly on our church site. So I suspect it’s just not synchronised18th February 2020 at 6:39 pm #4501rrfranksParticipantThank you, Andy! I will check that out. I figured it was something wrong on our end. I appreciate the help!
