MemberMy primary use for the plugin is to generate a list to display via a WordPress page…but the only shortcode for that pulls from the Mailing List roster. Does that matter? Doesn’t seem like it should, but then they aren’t on the Member list.

ehout: I’ll work on adding users and merging households etc.
You can add, edit and delete people within a household easily. What needs adding in to the plugin is the ability to merge households!Hmmm… Can I add an existing user to a household already? Then I am overlooking it. Can’t find it, sorry.
Any direction on how to do that?

KeymasterThe “import users from wordpress” link in the directory section will add wordpress users to the directory that aren’t already in. But it creates a new household for each user.
I’ll add in some functionality to merge households, move people from one household to another in the next release. It’ll be a few weeks away as there are some other good features being tested at the moment!

Keymasterehout- the new code for testing is on github in the development branch
https://github.com/andymoyle/church-admin/tree/development
Backup db first as rota table is changed.Still a bit buggy
1 admin page toggle/open & close not being remembered
2 Rota is not remembering non db stored entries when using autocompleteMoving people to a different households is accessed from a person’s “Move” link on the display household page.
Will update wordpress repo when we have ironed out the bugs
#2 needs to use autocomplete more simply I think to be fixed.
#1 can’t get my head round it!22nd March 2013 at 5:29 pm #3195Andy Moyle
KeymasterIronically bug #1 is fixed, just got to sort #2 before we make it live update.

KeymasterI had that message too – weird. Will make the github development version number more obviously higher than it already is!

KeymasterLatest github development version has fixed those two bugs – anyone care to test and feedback (preferably not on a live site just in case!!!)

I think that the creating wordpress users section is fixed now – please let me know.
But wordpress is pretty picky about creating users though – they have to have a unique email address, so they will have to share their parents login. You can create users yourself in wordpress and all the plugin functionality will work for those users!
You indicate here that the wordpress users are accessible by this plugin, but I don’t see an option to choose them for a household member or as any other member or function. Please help. I’m attempting to set up a social site with Buddypress to connect members and schedule them as volunteers and leaders.

KeymasterPlease start a new thread for new issues, with what version no you are using and the steps you did that caused the issue and a question!
That said, I’ll try to answer your points/questions
If you have users already on your site you can click “Import WordPress Users (only new ones added)” which will create a new household (with no address stored yet) for each wordpress user.
“I just attempted to add a person and the Wordpres import option showed up” – I am afraid that’s not enough information/question to help you with!
There are a number of routes to editing an address for those users. You could search for their surname – a page of results will come up. Click on the current address or “Add Address” to add/edit the address.
Moving a person to a different household can be done from a display household screen, which is brought up when you click on a surname on other screens. That will bring up a form with a drop down menu in it – the flaw you have found is that people can only be moved to households with at least one person already in it.

MemberHi there,
Is it possible to set up the website for members to update their details for church admin fields? The member is linked to both church admin and the wordpress user, but can only see wordpress fields to update. I want the members to be able to update their information on birthdays, telephone, address, etc. themselves.
Thanks!

KeymasterI’ll look into it!
