It throws the error:
“The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.”The other pages (e.g., Permissions, Settings) work. As a side note, when I installed, it said there were 1,600 or so not understood characters. I ended up deleting the plug-in and reinstalling. But the error persists.
I am hosting on Microsoft Azure, using PHP 5.5, .NET 4.5.
Running WordPress 3.9.2 “Resurrect” church theme.**EDIT: I restarted the Azure VM, toggling .NET/PHP on and off, and that seemed to fix the problem temporarily.
**EDIT2: After clicking away, the page doesn’t return. So the error persists!
**EDIT3: I installed Church Admin on another website, hosted on the same Azure account, and it seems to work fine on the other site. Not sure if it is a theme or plugin conflict? I did install WP-Members, as wel. (although, it still installed with some error about 1,600 characters are not understood)
I have tried a lot of troubleshooting, to really no avail. I even copied over the ‘wp-admin’ and ‘wp-includes’ folders from a clean install. Here’s the strange news of the day, the main site link {my domain}/wp-admin/admin.php?page=church_admin/index.php does not show up. HOWEVER, all other action pages do. e.g., {my domain}/wp-admin/admin.php?page=church_admin/index.php&action=church_admin_small_groups
So, I can work around the issue, by referencing these direct links. Very odd, but functional. A bit stumped, but I am getting it to work now!

I’m stumped – occasionally some servers give activation errors because I have saved the files as UTF-8 but not with w/o BOMI’ve just uploaded 0.5656 which saves any plugin errors on activation. If you could deactivate and reactivate and then check the church admin main page – the error will show at the bottom. Please post it and I can see what is happening! You can then clear it by clicking the link.
Thanks26th August 2014 at 10:02 pm #3161AnonymousGuestHi Andy,
I upgraded to 0.5956 and on the first click of the admin main page, I see everything normally, with no errors. Subsequent clicks result in the generic Azure error, “The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.” http://nhcc.azurewebsites.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=church_admin/index.phpI have only seen the activation error occur on the first time installing the plugin on each one of my sites. It does not return after a deactivate/delete-reinstall. Let me know if there are other things you’d like me to try. Thanks for reaching out!
26th August 2014 at 10:35 pm #3162Andy MoyleKeymasterThat is strange.
If you are able to look able at the bottom of the admin main page after activating and copy and paste the error shown, that will help with diagnosis a lot! -
