I’d like to have the Speaker Job be plain text, since we often have guest speakers who aren’t in membership database, but the system always defaults to “How Chosen” to Autocomplete. It doesn’t seem to have it as an option in the database table rota_settings.
Are you talking about the rota or podcast section?
With the rota you can specify autocomplete or not
With the podcast it is always on.With both names are stored as plain text if they aren’t in the database anyway and an ID if they are – that’s so people can be emailed etc.
Rota, not podcast. It says I can specify autocomplete or not, but when I set it to NO and save it, it keeps going back to YES. I went into the database hoping I could set it there, but couldn’t find that field in the table for rota_settings.
For some reason autocomplete is stored as a 1 in the department_id column of the rota settings table. I think I did that to enable choosing people from a particular ministry but ended up just doing autocomplete with it.
It wasn’t editing correctly, but has been fixed for 0.819
Ah. I wondered why department (aka ministry) was in that table. Always interesting to see how old decisions can get turned to new uses in coding. I think you were wise to not link people to ministry for a particular job in the rota, since with the autocomplete, it’s not that hard to find people, and requiring membership in a ministry means we’d all have to make sure that all the people are matched to the proper ministries, and that’s just one more item to maintain.
