    Andy,

We have a conundrum here in latin america. No single messaging platform works for everyone. Not all of our people have facebook. Not all of our people have credit on their phones to be able to receive text messages. Not all of our people even have email addresses.

    I am requesting that …
    1. Facebook messenger be added as a messaging/notification method.
    2. Users be able to select their prefered messaging/notification medium (SMS, Email, FB Messenger)
    3. Whenever any communication is done on the site it would be automatically delivered via the users preference.

So… Instead of SMS messaging or Email messaging in the menu there could simply be a Messaging menu item.
There the sender could send a message and leave it up to user preference how it is delivered or could explicitly select Email, SMS, or FB Messenger.
Rota reminder notifications could be sent via user prefered medium.

    Great idea.

Facebook has an API. At the moment with the current craziness and wonderful gospel/pastoral opportunities it is bringing I don’t have the time to go up the learning curve.

I kind of like the idea of doing a Mailchimp Email, grabbing the “campaign” link and then sending that to those who have opted for Push or SMS.

BTW you can now use Revolut to do free international transfers from the US – It’s basically a topup master card/app. Here’s an invite link https://revolut.com/referral/johnj594
