WordPress

WordPress is a content management system for building an maintaining websites. It is used on nearly half of all websites in the world, because it is simple to use and has a vast number of people creating themes and plugins to help make websites.

There are two main ways to have a website with WordPress.

  1. Self hosted - this is the most flexible solution as the website owner is able to freely add to the website any theme or plugin they wise. You need a hosting account and a domain name to create a website. You can hire a webdesigner to do that for you, get in touch if you would like us to quote for a church website for you!
  2. WordPress.com is a for-profit, paid service that is powered by the WordPress.org software. It's simple to use, but you lose much of the flexibility of the self-hosted WordPress.

WordPress is free, easy to use and has many tutorials on how to get started and do more advanced things with it. There are literally millions of add ons available in the form of themes and plugins.
